Which model do you need?
The new ISO 9650 standard is intended to improve and harmonise design standards for life rafts. It distinguishes two categories of rafts. “Type 1” for ocean navigation and “Type 2” for coastal navigation (the ISO 9650 standard does not impose any limit between coastal and open sea sailing.
We currently offer 4 models in the Zodiac life raft range.
- Coaster ISO 9650
- Open Sea ISO 9650
- Racing ISAF
- Class Ocean ISAF
The Zodiac Coaster life rafts do what they say, they are suitable for coastal sailing in moderate sea conditions whilst the Open Sea life rafts are designed for sailing on the open sea and are thus adapted to the risks incurred on long voyages; like heavy seas and high winds. Racing ISAF life rafts are intended for yachtsmen who sail for sport (like offshore racing or regattas) or simply for open sea sailing.
The Class Ocean ISAF is derived from a professional life raft, and conforms to the ISAF** and the new international marine regulations of open sea racing.
